Nominate a founder
Know a founder people would learn a lot from? Nominate them, or nominate yourself.
Who we are looking for
- Founders, owners and builders with a real operating business in Northwest Arkansas: Benton and Washington counties and the towns around them.
- A business with some years behind it. Most guests have been at it five years or more, though a young company with an unusual start is welcome.
- Any industry. We've had restaurants, banks, builders, software, agencies, manufacturers, retail, healthcare and law. If we haven't featured someone in the founder's field yet, we'd be excited to hear the story.
- About ninety minutes of conversation, usually at your business. We bring the gear to you.
Send a nomination
Name, company, city, a few lines on what they built and why it's worth hearing, and how to reach them. That's it.
We have your nomination. It lands in the show inbox and somebody reads it, usually within a week. If we follow it up, we get in touch through the contact details you gave.
That did not go through, so nothing was recorded. Check that every field marked * has an answer and send it again, or write to nwafounders@gmail.com, which reaches exactly the same place.
After you send it
- It lands in the show inbox and somebody reads it, usually within a week.
- If it's a fit, one of us replies to set up a short call to hear the story and answer your questions.
- We schedule the recording at your business and bring the gear.
- The episode comes out on a Tuesday, and your guest page and full transcript go up with it. Clips follow when we cut them.
If we pass, it's usually about the calendar, not the business. Read how we pick guests for the full standard.
Common questions
Can I nominate myself?
Yes. Nominating yourself counts the same as a recommendation. Tell us what you built and how it's grown.
Does it cost anything?
No. A seat on the show isn't for sale, and no sponsor buys a seat for anyone. See how we pick guests.
How long does it take?
It's roughly a two-hour commitment, usually at your business: about ninety minutes of conversation, plus setup. We bring the gear to you.
Do I get the questions in advance?
There's no list of questions. We don't script them out, and in general there's no prep needed. The goal is a long-form, casual conversation about how you started the business, mistakes you've made, what you've learned and how the business has grown. We usually end on the same two questions: Why build a business in Northwest Arkansas? How do you define success? If a subject is off limits, tell us before we record.
When does it come out?
Episodes come out every other Tuesday, so the date depends on the queue when we record. We tell you the date once it is set.
